Quilt for a Baby Girl

I posted last spring about being in a wedding for my dear friend Alex... now I am an Auntie!  I made this quilt in celebration of my new niece Isabel.  My thought was to make a quilt that she can enjoy for years to come, so I steered clear of 'baby,' fabrics and instead chose the theme of strawberries and flowers.  The yellow floral print in the top right corner is a remnant from a dress my grandmother made many years ago, and the fabric on the top right was imported for me from India via my dear friend Indu.  There are 5 assorted strawberry prints, all of which were handed down by my mother, grandmother, and late neighbor Jean.  One of the strawberry prints is 3D velvet!  In short, there is a beautiful story behind nearly every fabric in this quilt, perfect for a new family heirloom.
